As the Ash Cloud showed, lots of passengers were stranded all over the world. The people you saw on the news sleeping on airport foyer floors were the ones who had booked online "to allegedly save money". The reality is that they had no one to call.

Booking online is not any cheaper and it could turn out to be a lot more expensive.
